Event
Words & Wine with Mark Caro, author of 'The Foie Gras Wars'
Words & Wine events take place at the elegant Pan Pacific Hotel, where guests mingle with the author while sipping award-winning wines from Ste. Michelle Wine Estates and enjoying savory nibbles hosted by Pan Pacific Hotel Seattle and prepared by John Howie's Seastar Restaurant & Raw Bar.
For the highlight of the evening, the engaging Warren Etheredge, of The Warren Report, leads an intimate on-stage interview and conversation with the author.
A copy of the book, signed for you by the author after the interview, is included in the ticket cost, as well as the wine and appetizers. ------------------- For more information, please call 206-632-2419 --------------------
The Egyptians developed it, food loving people everywhere embraced it, and then in 2005, Chicago outlawed it: foie gras. Mark Caro, veteran Chicago Tribune writer, spent time on all sides of the debate, and the facts, he admits, "give me pause" although "not enough to put down my fork". Join us for a lively discussion about appetite, ethics and the intersection of the two, when we talk with Caro about his latest book, The Foie Gras Wars: How a 5,000 Year-Old-Delicacy Inspired the World's Fiercest Food Fight.
