4th Annual Marimbas in the Mountains
Join us for the 4th Annual Marimbas in the Mountains fundraiser. Featuring special guests Simba Youth Marimba from Seattle, lead by Sheree Seretse. Also Tendai Muparutsa on guitar and voice from Zimbabwe. Enjoy a lasagna dinner, music, and fun. Proceeds benefit Cle Elum-Roslyn School Disrtict Pembera Youth Marimba.
Simba Youth Marimba...
TENDAI MUPARUTSA is an internationally known performer, music educator, ethnomusicologist and bandleader. He participates in a multitude of Zimbabwean and African music circles in North America, and collaborates with musicians and instructors from all over Africa. His work encompasses everything from performing with afro-pop groups to teaching at African music camps to directing mbira, marimba and dance ensembles. His high energy, humor and passion for sharing African music delight audiences and students alike. He is currently an Artist in Residence in African Music Performance at Williams College in Massachusetts. He is a Co-Director of Kusika (dance company) and Zambezi (marimba).
