smARTfilms: BEING THERE
BIMA smARTfilms series fosters community conversation through the merger of visual art, film, and narrative. After the screening, our host and guest(s) will initiate a discussion about the film and its art. All are welcome to participate in an open exchange of ideas during these post-film discussions.
BEING THERE - Chance (Peter Sellers), a gardener who has lived his life within the walls of a wealthy urban estate, understands the outside world through what he has seen on TV. When his employer dies, he is abruptly cast into the reality of this world, in which words, actions and restraint have multiple meanings and broad impacts. Based on the novel by Jerzy Kosinski. A hosted discussion will follow the film.
The BIMA Bistro will stay open until 7pm in advance of the screening for food and small bites.
