The Divertimento Ensemble, a most unique musical group, presents its Concert "Music of Yesterday and Today" at the Piedmont Center for the Arts on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 8:00 p.m."Divertimento" means "to have a good time", and it was formed precisely for amusement. Divertimento's joy is to make enjoyable music and to share its joy with the audience. Their diverse program includes something old, the great Dvorak Quintet, and Ottakar Zich's rarely heard octet. The new music features the world premiere of the octet 2014 by local composer Aaron Blumenfeld. Members of the Divertimento Ensemble come from the most important orchestras in the area, and all are internationally known soloists.
