ShortLived LA
ShortLived 2.0, PianoFight's short playwriting competition, is currently playing at the Off-Market Theater in San Francisco, CA for a three-month run - and it's making its LA debut Tuesdays, May 19 & 26 at 8:00pm in the Theater Asylum.
SF Weekly praised ShortLived as "Better than SNL ... just like reality TV, only real, and smarter, and better, and concerned with a legitimate art form."
The SF Chronicle dubbed it "Playwright Survivor"
ShortLived 2.0 consists of six SF rounds and one LA round and concludes with a finals-best-of-the-best Championship Weekend in SF, which will feature the winners of each round. After audiences have scored all 8 pieces in the round, scores are tallied and the highest scoring piece clinches a spot in the Championship Weekend.
ShortLived LA, will feature 8 original pieces written by local LA writers. The highest scoring piece will automatically get a spot in the SF Championship Weekend for a chance to win the grand prize, an invitation to pen a full-length piece produced by PianoFight and staged for a one-month run in Studio 250 at Off-Market Theater in San Francisco.
Last year's winner, Bay Area playwright Daniel Heath, delivered a whopper titled Forking, which played to sold out houses in the month of January and made it's LA debut in February at Theater Asylum.
