A Tale of Blackbeard
History, action, romance, and humor are artistically intertwined in this production featuring community performers from Ocracoke Island!
This musical play, by Julie Howard, was presented for nine summer seasons between 1974 and 1994. Now, after a twenty-year hiatus, it is returning to the Ocracoke stage. Directed by Charles Temple and Desiree Ricker, A Tale of Blackbeard is produced by the Ocracoke non-profit, Ocracoke Alive. Profits from the show return to the Ocracoke Community through more programming through the organization.
Shows take place at the Ocracoke Community Center on Ocracoke Island. Tickets for the 2014 season are $12 Adults and $6 Kids. The show lasts approximately two hours with intermission.
Some tickets are available for pre-sales online, and some tickets are held for the door sales. The door opens 30 minutes before the show. All seating is general.
