PEACE
The Imaginists Present The Teen Ensemble
PEACE a comedy with tragic overtones, a parabasis and silly dances
This original piece is inspired by Aristophanes' comedy Peace first produced at the city Dionysia in March 421 B.C. In Aristophanes' play a farmer, Trygaeus, who has had enough of the 27 year war between Athens and Sparta flies to Olympus on a dung beetle to demand of the Gods peace for humankind, only to find that the Gods have abandoned Olympus and given up on humanity. The Imaginists Teen Ensemble creates a version with a young protagonist, media overload, debate, and dialougue surrounding the age old question; will the world ever choose peace. Complete with dung beetle, a parabasis and silly dances.
