A Good Mess Cabaret
Join us for our very first Good Mess Cabaret! An evening of opera & musical theatre favourites at the Strathcona Community Centre. Informal, yet dramatic; relaxed, yet riveting. Wear whatever you want, and laugh as loudly as you feel like. In here, life is beautiful (please do not sue us, Kander & Ebb).
At Good Mess we believe in creating unconventional productions in unusual spaces. We believe in theatre that brings people together, and want to bring audiences all the beauty and emotional highs and lows of opera in an accessible, intimate setting. We think that when you combine highbrow and lowbrow art, you get something really special.
More than anything though, were committed to paying our artists a fair wage. Ticket sales for this event will go directly towards guest artist fees for our upcoming production of La rondine at the 2025 Edmonton International Fringe Festival. Composed by Giacomo Puccini (the composer behind hits like Turandot and La bohème!), this is a seldom-performed gem, full of love, loss, and heartbreaking melodies. In fact, our production of La rondine, made possible through the Fringe Lottery, will be its Western Canada premiere. We have assembled an incredible cast and crew, all Canadian, most local to Edmonton.
