XARA CHORAL THEATRE: Waiting on the Eastern Line
It is a train journey that will change their lives forever. Many have heard about the tragedy and heroism that emerged from Europe's WWI trenches, but what about those who were left behind, here in Nova Scotia? This 35-minute piece of choral theatre uses music, movement, and lighting to tell the stories of several young Nova Scotian women who travel by train to be reunited with the soldiers they love. Based on real stories of wartime separation, this beautiful piece was created to mark the centenary of WWI and will be premiered at PODIUM 2014 - Canada's national choral conference and festival.
