Outdoor photography classes on privately conserved land
Classes
This is your opportunity to learn outdoor photography from a team of skilled volunteer photographers. Plus, this is a special chance for you to visit private land under conservation easement with INLT. Weather permitting, classes will be held on the following dates: -- Saturday, May 16 Carder/Hanson easement near Coeur d'Alene. Meet on-site at 6:00 AM. -- Saturday, June 20 Bryant/Sayre easement near Spangle. Meet on-site at 7:00 AM. -- Saturday, July 18 Mott easement at Lake Cocolalla. Meet on-site at 8:00 AM.
Instructors include: Gerry Brooks, Alice Garland, Bob Griffith, Rich Leon, Tom Munson, and Steve Shining. Each person will need a digital or film camera and the instruction manual.
Classes are $15 per person per class and may include macro photography, landscapes, birds, flowers, etc. You may sign up for one or more of the classes. Class size is limited only five students per instructor. You will have two hours of instruction and up to two hours on your own. The landowner may be available to talk about the land and what makes it special.
We will provide you with a list of things to bring and a map and driving directions a couple of weeks prior to the class.
Contest Summary
Participants may submit their photos for judging by a panel of experts from local camera clubs. All photos must have been taken during the classes. Photos will be displayed in the lobby of the Community Building in advance of the award ceremony which will be held in conjunction with the October 2 downtown Spokane Visual Arts Tour. INLT will select photographs from student submissions to include in its 2010 calendar, greeting cards, and other materials.
