Line One
Described as "a beautifully choreographed ride on the edge of utter chaos" (The Stranger), and "utterly, paradoxically, delightful"(Seattle Times), Kaufmann's highly successful experimental theatre production returns in an expanded version.
Actors enter with cell phones, not knowing what the night will hold. Their job: to speak aloud whatever they hear through their earpieces. The phones start to ring and the real-time adventure begins. Spontaneous conversations,
narrated journeys, and unique experiences overlap as each night's theme emerges.

1st TIME IN REAL TIME The opening night gala show connects the Line One
ensemble with people discovering new experiences. Vicariously visit a
Seattle hot-spots, check in on a blind date in progress or become a part of
the show as you visit the Vault of New Experiences.
Saturday September 30th
GAY, CHRISTIAN and ON-LINE Where do gay Christians gather? On the web!
Well, many of them do, and this show explores the issues, visitors and
content of popular web sites created for gay Christians.
Thursday October 5th
THE #2 BUS The #2 bus winds from Queen Anne to Capitol Hill, but you won
need to leave the theater to experience the route many can live without.
Get to know your fellow riders, drivers and metro mechanics as you learn
helpful bus-riding etiquette and cruise along with real-time trip narration.
Friday October 6th
AIRING OUT THE BABY Get personal with members of a Seattle support group for
new parents. Change your first diaper, learn breastfeeding 101 and cry your
baby to sleep, all from the relative safety of your theatre seat.
Saturday October 7th
WORLD OF DRAGON GATHERING Role-playing gamers take center stage as they
share their passion for a hobby that involves enchanted lands, elves,
monsters and strangers at computer consoles around the world.
Thursday October 12th
MEET ME AT THE MALL Explore life as it exists in real time at a nearby
shopping mall. Cruise from the Food Court to Hot Topic as we hook up with
power walkers, rebellious youth and professional sweater-folders.
Friday October 13th
FRIDAY THE 13TH Supernatural. Spooky. Superstitions. Skeptics.
Saturday October 14th
RECONNECTED (and it feels so good) We use our Line One phone connection to
reunite callers with objects, places, friends, lovers and days gone by.
Monday October 16th
SCENES, HEARDS, AND BURGERS Content taken from local performances from the
past weekend: Scenes, performers, audience members, critics with a side-trip
to Dicks for burgers and a shake.
Thursday October 19th
WELCOME TO MY WORLD Stories and perspectives from functionally disabled
callers.
Friday October 20th
ALTERED BODIES From fixing hair, face, teeth and breasts, to piercings and
tattoos, callers share stories of body alteration for health and
