Haunted Happenings / Phénomènes Hantés

Concordia University Department of Theatre: Haunted Happenings / Phénomènes Hantés

A Site-specific event and collaboration between the Department of Theatre and the Canadian Centre for Architecture
A devised work conceived and curated by Shauna Janssen

Join us for Haunted Happenings, a series of site-specific performances by the students of Concordia Universitys Department of Theatre. This event marks the culmination of an in-depth research of the hidden spaces, histories, and atmospheres of the CCA by students. Drawing inspiration from the CCA archives and the history of the site, the performances delve into themes of memory, haunting, and the spectral presence of place. Through a combination of theatrical interventions, performative installations, and multimedia works, Haunted Happenings invites the audience to experience the CCA in a new and unexpected way.

This collaborative project offers a unique opportunity to witness how art can reveal the unseen histories and potential futures of a space, transforming the CCA into a living canvas of memory and imagination.

This event features performances and installations by Heather Anderson, Lauryn Andersson, Ian Crane, Lizzie Esses, Zoë Heffring, Ian McCormack, Makula Muwanga Ssevume, Jean Philippe Poirier, Marie-Ange Sparrow, Lisa Verschoor, and Izzy Walker-Sherman with support from production assistants Xuexin Luna Tang and Cristina Alcantara Haro.

This event is wheelchair accessible.
