A noir-ish thriller centering on old high school pals Bernice and Fontayne. They're reunited when Bernice, now a parole officer, is assigned to monitor Fontayne, a recovering addict who has just been released from prison. When Bernice's son goes missing, after his partner in human trafficking across the Mexican border is murdered, she enlists Fontayne to use her underworld connections to help find him.
