Music lovers are invited to an extraordinary evening of Schuberts music performed on historical instruments. The concert will take place in the Great Hall at St. Pauls Bloor St. on Friday, May 9 at 7:30 pm in Toronto, Canada. In addition to the performance, audience members will be able to meet the artists, learn about the instruments, and engage with the musicians.
Presented by Céleste Music, this program highlights Schuberts highly personal and intimate chamber music repertoire featuring solos, duos, and culminating in the beloved Piano Trio No. 1 in B-flat Major, D. 898. The concert performers Chloe Noelle Fedor (violin), Keiran Campbell (cello), and Andrea Botticelli (fortepiano) are active soloists and ensemble performers playing in many internationally renowned period instrument orchestras, including Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra.
The concert will be performed using a very special instrument: an original 19th century fortepiano built by Conrad Graf. Found in a castle in Hungary and beautifully restored in the Netherlands, this beautiful antique piano was built in Vienna in 1835. Original Viennese fortepianos in stunning performance condition are very rare in North America. This performance marks its first appearance in a public concert since its arrival in Toronto.
