Advanced Thermal Envelope Workshop
ADVANCED THERMAL ENVELOPE WORKSHOP Come join Building Science Specialist and trainer Thomas Anreise of CLEAResult and the Northwest ENERGY STAR Homes program for a half day of discussion and instruction on successful techniques for building better thermal enclosures in our homes.
The course will focus heavily on building tightness and air sealing strategies for code and above code homes in the Northwest including the pros and cons of different air sealing approaches, materials and assembly types, and best practices with thermal bridging and insulation. Bring your thoughts, questions, concerns, and enthusiasm for building better buildings to this engaging half day session.
1.Incorporate critical details for complying with current codes and future proofing your product for upcoming codes, both on prescriptive air barrier framing strategies and meeting minimum infiltration targets 2.Use NWESH Thermal Enclosure details to meet portions of the current Green Building Standards 3.Utilize the most cost-effective and reliable methods for meeting advanced infiltration targets (~2.0 ACH50), as well as the features and benefits of doing so 4.Learn key air sealing strategies specifically relevant to advanced wall systems incorporating double wall and staggered stud construction, as well as rigid exterior insulation
