Join 450 of our "close personal friends" at this annual charity Holiday Party, to be held on Saturday December 6th. It may seem weird to attend a party at the home of someone you don't know, but we sincerely DO hope you all will be there. It is truly open to all of the wonderful women AND men of Houston's GLBT community. The party is an opportunity to meet new friends, and reconnect with old ones at the most festive home party of the year!
This year's beneficiary is Out for Education, which raises money for college scholarships for local LGBT youth.
This year's sponsors are La Crema Wines, Tito's Hand Made Vodka, Red Bull, and Budweiser/Silver Eagle. Please support them just as support our community.
Admission is $40, which includes open bar and a bountiful selection of hot and cold appetizers. You can make your donation at the door, or here via credit card or PayPal.
To make it easier to meet people, each guest selects a glow-in-the-dark bracelet. An index chart explains what each color means: * You're too late. I'm already taken. * Well, I came with someone but I'd consider a better offer. * I'm single but selective - at least until midnight. * I've lowered my standards. If you're breathing, you'll do. * I am NOT making a statement. I am just accessorizing. And we also provide Conversation Cards, an optional tool for creating stimulating conversations. Whether you discuss your favorite childhood snacks or whether you'd rather be lucky or good, the cards will provide hundreds of interesting topics to inspire your gift of gab.
The event features a full open bar and tons of great food. Here's this year's menu:
* Smoked Pork Tenderloin with Texas Cranberry Chutney * Mushrooms Stuffed with Spicy Sausage * Mushrooms Stuffed with Spinach Souffle * Bourbon Chicken * Sassy Shrimp * Artichoke Jalapeno Dip * Punkin' Dip with Ginger Snaps * Avocado Feta Salsa * Buffalo Chicken Dip * Cheezy Poofs * Devilish Eggs * Pepper Boats with Olive Feta Tapenade
PARKING: There is street parking in our neighborhood, but we're also offering a park and shuttle lot only 2 blocks from our house. You can park at Harris Academy, 3130 Holder Forest, and our brightly decorated shuttle van will whisk you to the party. The vans will run continuously from 8 pm to 2 am. A uniformed security guard will be stationed at the shuttle lot for the duration of the party. Here's a link for the map which shows our house and the shuttle parking lot: http://www.socialnoteshouston.com/house_map.html
A GREAT DEAL FROM UBER: If you are new to Uber, they will give you a free ride to our party (you'll have to pay for the ride home). Here is the link to request your ride: https://get.uber.com/go/HOLIDAY28dlu Use this code: HOLIDAY28dlu. Existing Uber customers don't get the free ride, but if you enter code UberHolidays in the app for your chance to win $500 of Uber credit to get you through the holiday season!
More good news! Richard Hill and Manuel Ganda have issued a matching donation challenge. For every dollar that you donate to Out for Education (above and beyond your basic admission fee), Richard and Manuel will match your donation, dollar for dollar (up to a total of $2,000). What a generous offer!
We're looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces on Dec.6th! If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email Carol at cwyatthouston@yahoo.com
