Lynn Modell/Making Dances presents INTERESTING WOMEN a satirical snapshot of everyday life through dance, film, and music
After a string of sold-out performances on the East Coast, including runs at Boston Center for the Arts and the Providence Fringe Festival, dancer/choreographer/director Lynn Modell brings her company to Pasadena to share "Interesting Women", a collection of film and dance works that comment on daily life through a satirical lens. Throughout this interdisciplinary evening, audiences will be invited to challenge the status quo and find humor in the mundane, from dating and our crazy diet culture to the need for both patience and a healthy sense of rebellion.
Over decades of dancemaking, Modell has become known for using humor as a tool to understand the world better, sharing stories of struggle and strength that encourage others to process their experiences more fully. In the multigenerational "Interesting Women", a cast of seven female dancers tap into moments of reflection, absurdity, and delight to evoke the breadth of daily life.
