In Readers Theater, actors use vocal expression to help the audience understand the story and identify with the characters using minimal visual storytelling effects such as sets, costumes, and intricate blocking. This is a Dynamic Reader's Theater production that is performed in an intimate setting in such an manner that the audience will feel fully immersed in the action. Seating is in the round.
All tickets are general admission with open seating. St. Francis Theatre is located on NW corner of River Rd. and Swan Rd. on the campus of St. Francis UMC. Enter from either River Rd. or Swan Rd. The theatre is the largest building that faces River Rd. Production time is about 2 hours. Doors open 30 minutes prior to show time. Refreshments available at intermission.
This production is generally kid-friendly, in that there is no obscenities or visual displays that are inappropriate for children. However this play revolves around the crime of rape and addresses adult issues of prejudice and racism that could be upsetting to younger or sensitive children.
