CD Release concert and Fundraiser for St. Anne's Anglican Church (destroyed by fire in June 2024).
Thursday, March 6, 2025 @ 7:30pm St. Anne's Parish Hall 651 Dufferin Street, Toronto, ON M6K 2B2
Chamber folk music for solo violin and nyckelharpa, performed by Anne Lindsay. 12 tunes composed and recorded during the global pandemic.
This CD is dedicated to St Annes Anglican Church in Toronto where it was recorded in November 2021, also during the global pandemic. St Annes was built in 1907, and contained a Byzantine dome with spectacular acoustics. Murals by the Group of Seven and sculptures by Frances Loring and Florence Wyle were added in the 1920s.
Sadly, in June 2024 the church suffered a devastating fire and all that remains of this historic Canadian cultural gem are parts of the exterior walls. I am grateful to share a record of this outstanding acoustic space.
Proceeds from this concert will support the church community's future plans.
