Planned Maintenance Notice: The Brown Paper Tickets website will be unavailable for up to 4 hours starting at 9pm PST on January 27 (5am GMT on January 28).
Tu Bishvat, the Jewish Birthday of the Trees, is a prime opportunity to celebrate and enjoy the fruits of nature, and reexamine our relationships to the land. Jesse of Jesses Tea House will demonstrate how to brew and drink the specialty teas he imports from China and then well get to sipping and noshing on the traditional fruits and nuts of Tu Bishvat, accompanied by beautiful klezmer-folk music.
Well also have talks from the three Der Nister rabbis about A.D. Gordons philosophy of nature and its relationship to Israeli culture, a Yiddish essay about Tu Bishvat (or as its known in Yiddish, khomishoser) in Southern California, and American Jewish efforts to do agriculture over the years.
You wont want to miss this unique Tu Bishvat experience. We look forward to seeing you at the party!
Tickets are $10. Thursday, February 13th at 6 pm.
