About The Things We Say:
Sarah and Carly, well into adulthood, have returned to their childhood home to pack up their belongings after their parents divorce. Their mother, Susan, has a new boyfriend named Jeff that she neglected to tell them about. Their father, while absent, is an elephant in the room hovering over everything. Carly just wants to get through the weekend unscathed, Sarah cant let go of the past, Susan cant face her life- not really, and Jeff is a good guy. An exploration of all the things we say to ourselves to get by and the ways in which they frame our understanding of the world
