A Tale of Three Husbands: Widowhood, Grief, and Redemption
Western Slope Concert Series founding director and concert pianist Kathryn Mientka Stanfill Farruggia returns to the Western Slope after having been widowed for the third time in December 2023. She has performed world-wide in five countries and been featured on PBS twice. In the last 12 years she has buried three beloved husbands, all of whom were instrumental in the development of her musical talent. In this evening of music and story-telling she will recount her blessings with each husband. With her music - romantic piano solos from Liszt, Schubert, Schumann, Debussy, and Rachmaninoff - she will express her deepest gratitude for the immense and unwavering love of these three amazing men, and continue their legacy of love. She dedicates this concert to her wonderful husbands and to all wives and husbands everywhere who have lost their Beloved.
"Only people who are capable of loving strongly can
also suffer great sorrow, but this same necessity of
loving serves to counteract their grief and heals them." -Leo Tolstoy
