Comedy of Errors Invited Reading
You are invited to hear Comedy of Errors in a rollicking holiday reading by Stairwell Theater. Fourteen fabulous actors, directed by Sam Gibbs, supported by stage manager KC Athol and dramaturg Sarah Bedwell, will read this miraculous play in anticipation of a fully staged, site-specific performance in the Spring.
Early in his career, Shakespeare wrote a tour-de-force comedy that fits together like a Swiss watch, seeding chaos with two sets of twins lost in Ephesus who find their family in a miracle beyond all hope. We only know of two presentations of this play during his lifetime, both of which were at court on December 28th during the Christmas festivities.
