Love me to Death and Beyond: An Anti-Valentine's Day Sci-Fi/Horror Celebrity Reading and Fundraiser
Join us for this delightfully terrifying fundraiser celebrating 10 years of The Omega Sci-Fi Project! This event helps us ensure our science fiction writing competition and classroom programming for high school students will be around for decades to come. Our guest stars Michelle Hurd from Star Trek: Picard, Daniel Olivas, author of Chicano Frankenstein, and more will be reading from original and long-beloved science fiction pieces. There will be food and drink!
Your $50 donation helps The Omega Sci-Fi Project cover costs for our incredible high-school programming for emerging sci-fi writers!
At the Fundraiser, there will be a selection of complimentary food and drinks, followed by wonderful readings from our featured guest authors, screenwriters, directors, and actors.
The event will be held on Saturday, February 8th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Heavy Manners Library.
More About The Omega Sci-Fi Project:
The Omega Sci-Fi Project is produced by Light Bringer Project, a nonprofit arts and education organization serving Pasadena and Los Angeles. The Project seeks to empower emerging young writers from Los Angeles County high schools to contribute their unique voices and diverse perspectives to the art of science fiction story writing while tapping into the power of science fiction to examine the greatest challenges and moral dilemmas humanity faces. The heart of this program is a season of free classroom creative Sci-Fi writing workshops culminating in a spring reading featuring our top story submissions!
