Kanikonhriyohtshera: Fostering Emergence of the Good Mind with Diane Hill and Jordan Miller
The Indigenous Health and Wellbeing Promotion (IHAWP) Program at Native American Community Services (NACS) is proud to welcome Diane Hill (Mohawk, Bear Clan) and Jordan Miller (Mohawk, Bear Clan) who will present a series of interactive educational workshops and healing activities, based on their culturally-based program, "Kanikonhriyohtshera: Fostering Emergence of the Good Mind."  This series of presentations will help participants understand and engage in strategies and activities to help overcome the many residual challenges stemming from historical traumas impacting Native people and communities, such as residential boarding schools.  Both Diane and Jordan have offered these workshops across Turtle Island, including appearances at the previous "Gathering of Good Minds" program at NACS.

The daily program for Thursday, November 21 through Saturday, November 23 will feature the Kanikonhriyohtshera: Fostering Emergence of the Good Mind presentations from 9 am - 5 pm, and will include breakfast from 8 - 9 am, lunch from 12 - 1 pm, and dinner from 5 - 6 pm.  Details for Sunday, November 24 will be announced during the presentations during the week (if not before).

We invite you to please register to attend the "Kanikonhriyohtshera: Fostering Emergence of the Good Mind" Program!  This is open to all Human Beings, Native and Non-Native.

The Indigenous Health and Wellbeing Promotion (IHAWP) Program will also include a Community Dinner and Haudenosaunee Social Dance on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 5:30 - 8:30 pm.  The IHAWP Program is happy to welcome the Newtown Singers who will lead the Social Dance. The social is open to all and pre-registration for the social is NOT needed.

The Indigenous Health and Wellbeing Promotion (IHAWP) Program is funded by the New York State Department of Health / AIDS Institute, as well as businesses, foundations, and people like you!

Nyah-weh!  Thank you!
