Awakening The Mystic
Join Rob Dorgan as he presents an evening of storytelling, centered around his novel, Awakening the Mystic. This evening will be an intimate glimpse into the inspiration for this hope-inspiring story of Love as well as selected excerpts from the novel. This will be different from any other book signing event Rob does.
Awakening the Mystic is an every-human story filled with hope, the magic of love, and the healing powers of the divine feminine.
Yoga teacher Ren Devlins life is forever changed after his practices with yoga and meditation awaken him to find what was once thought to be impossible in the physical worldpossible.
Amidst the chaos, Ren seeks answers through his dreams and even deeper states of meditation, during which he encounters his councilthe gods and goddesses of the zodiac. Rens astrological council steers him down a path of spiritual healing to work through the kleshasthe five mental afflictions responsible for suffering.
Awakening the Mystic is an imaginative combination of philosophies and ideologies across numerous religions and cultures, as well as an exploration of higher consciousness, the practice of yoga and meditation, and a journey to discover what love and healing really means.
About the Author
Rob Dorgan has an MA in European History from the University of Cincinnati. He began writing fiction at the age of seven with his first short story, Murder at the La Brea Tar Pits, followed by Murder at the Art Museum. Since the second grade, his interests and content have changed, but his love of telling a good story has remained.
Dorgan began studying yoga, meditation and astrology in the 1980s. These studies changed his life and are the basis for his novel.
While Dorgans debut, Awakening the Mystic, is fiction, it is full of real possibilities for the future of our human species and Mother Earth.
Dorgan is a certified yoga educator, international retreat facilitator, meditation teacher/devotee, and a practicing astrologer.
