AIA Orange County Lunch Hour Webinar: Interior Ambient Illumination

Interior Ambient lighting trends. Just a decade ago commercial interior lighting was beginning a transition from fluorescent to LED lighting technology. There has been more change in the past twelve years than all of the 1950s to 2010 (fluorescent T12 to T8, T5). This course looks at where we are now with Trends, Efficacy, Creativity and Sustainability.

Learning Objectives:

1. Trends Elaborate upon key trends in LED interior ambient illumination that are flourishing right now and their impact on the user experience.

2. Efficacy Explain how to light interior spaces efficiently: fixture efficacy, distribution, controls all have a role to play in getting light where it needs to be while limiting energy demands, glare, etc.

3. Creativity Beyond troffers and downlights. Offer ideas for utilizing highly efficient lighting in new ways for inspiring and beautiful interiors. Inventive lighting that is adaptable and budget friendly.

4. Sustainability There are an abundance of new certifications and labels: DLC, Declare, RoHS, WELL BUILDING, EPS, and more. Identifying each and the role they play in responsible design, manufacturing and construction
