Join the Kauai Writers Conference for its premiere spoken word show at the Royal Sonesta in Lihue where the best writers from all over the world are coming to stand on stage to reveal their Hot Mess: Stories of the Body.
One night only you get talent from all over the world onstage to make you life and open your heart.
Nine storytellers will share intimate, raw, heart opening and often hilarious stories of how our bodies get us into hot mess situations-
* a middle aged woman lies to her much younger Tinder Date
*a surfer's harrowing shark attack on the waters off Maui
*a woman shares her complicated love for her father post war
*a side splitting tale of inopportune parasites
*a beautiful meditation on how intimacy has changed for a man in his 80s
*a welfare mothers exploration of hunger - not just for food, but for justice
*a mothers courageous acceptance of her disfigured face teaches her daughter how to live boldly.
Be prepared to see talent that only comes to Kauai once a year, and also some of our talented local celebrity writers - Mimsy Bouret and David Dinner.
This funny, heart opening show will connect the community with stories to lead us into our own stories.
Storytellers are being produced and directed by Lee Hunsaker of Roanoke Virginias famous Hoot and Holler Stories and Laura Lentz, founder of Literati Academy and author of Freeing the Turkeys and STORYquest.
