Trio with BenBen - vocal / guitar / bass pedal Danielle Sinclair - violin Ezgi Yargici - cello
BenBen is a NYC based animator who makes mystical folk rock that circumvents cheap categorization and plays by its own rules. Charming songs about finding tenderness in the margins of a harsh society unfurl with lush arrangements. Ranging from heavy rock to experimental chamber folk, the core of BenBens music is his otherworldly high tenor voice, which is always powerfully earnest, as if casting a spell.
BenBen has connected through stage and studio with artists ranging from Band of Horses, Gustav Ejstes of Dungen, + members of Gogol Bordello, to folk goddesses such as the Indigo Girls + Samantha Crain. Hot on the heels of a month-long tour of Europe and the UK, BenBen is thrilled to embark on his first West Coast tour. He will be joined on stage by UK-based Izzy Williamson (cello) and fellow New Yorker Isabella Bustanoby (viola), who plays bass in the genuinely wild band Sloppy Jane and some possibly very special appearances by local musicians.
Danielle Sinclair, the most recent addition to the BenBen + Friends ensemble, is a multidisciplinary violinist, violist and teaching artist who hails from Baltimore, Maryland. As an orchestral musician, Danielle performs prolifically across the United States, and recently joined the South Orange Symphony as Concertmaster in residence for their 73rd and 74th seasons. A passionate advocate for music as a vehicle for social change, Danielle is on faculty at Paterson Music Project, an El Sistema inspired program based in the city of Paterson. Danielle also maintains a prolific private violin studio where she practices a collaborative, conversational teaching philosophy.

BenBen has been all over the indie rock landscape... craft[ing] deluxe, swirling indie odes that mine Beatles-y textures, songs dense with instrumentation and unconventional percussion. - Stereogum
"BenBen crafts music for sensitive souls seeking an otherworldly indie rock wonderland to get lost in, and dont we all need that sometimes?" - Third Eye Psych Rock
