Classical pianist Danny Holt enjoys shining a spotlight on the works of lesser-known composers from the 18thand 19th centuries, and he is a champion of music from the 20th century and today. Holts eclectic program includes lively Classical-era sonatas by Frantisek Xaver Dusek and Leopold Kozeluch, lyrical and powerful Romantic-era works by Amy Beach, Theodor Kirchner, and Stephen Heller, and contemporary works by Mike Garson (pianist for David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, etc.), jazz/pop phenom Jon Batiste, and others.
Called "phenomenal" by the late music critic Alan Rich, and hailed as one of the "local heroes" of the Los Angeles music scene (LAcitybeat.com), pianist Danny Holt performs around the globe in concert halls (Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Hollywood Bowl), clubs (Joes Pub, The Blue Whale, Copenhagen Jazzhouse) art galleries (MASS MoCA, Hammer Museum), churches, living rooms, and wherever else he can find a piano and someone to listen. His recorded catalog includes the recent solo album "Piano Music of Mike Garson" and other solo, chamber, and orchestral releases on the Innova Recordings label, pfMENTUM, New World Records, Deutsche Grammophon, and Lst records.
