Raymond Burr Film Festival
A weekend-long salute to Raymond Burr, humanitarian and actor, whose career spanned fifty years, with roles ranging from cold-blooded killers to television's most beloved defense attorney, Perry Mason. This special event will feature rare screenings of Raymond Burr films, enlightening panel discussions, and a special appearance by actress Barbara Hale, who played Perry Mason's faithful secretary Della Street. The weekend kicks off with a special gala reception and show on Friday night, May 15, with wines from the Raymond Burr Vineyards, a special on-stage tribute to Raymond Burr and Perry Mason, an onstage interview with Barbara Hale, and a screening of the classic film, 'Please Murder Me,' in which Burr plays a defense attorney not unlike Perry Mason, defending Angela Lansbury (who may be guiltier than she claims!. There is a sliding scale donation of $10 - $25 for this event. All Saturday events are open to the public for a donation of your choice. Proceeds from the Raymond Burr Film Festival support the work of the Santa Rosa Junior College's Disability Resources Fund and the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, Santa Rosa. The event will also include a spectacular raffle of collectible Raymond Burr items, including ties worn on-set by Burr as Perry Mason, the cane he carried in the Oscar-nominated film 'A Place in the Sun,' and more.
