Candlestick Point Unity Earth Day
LEJ and our Candlestick Point Eco-stewards project work to cultivate the next generation of community leaders in one of the Bay Area's most economically and environmentally burdened neighborhoods, empowering at-risk youth through environmental education, mentoring programs, civic activism, and good old-fashioned hard work in Bayview's few remaining green spaces.
Spend a few hours of your Saturday celebrating Earth Day and getting your hands dirty as you work side-by-side our staff, youth leaders, and state park partners to restore our parklands and community one seedling at a time. We'll be growing plants for park restoration, and making improvements to park nursery and community gardens. At the end of the project there will be BBQ and snacks. Dress in layers.
The volunteer event will take place from 9am - 12pm. Our BBQ will start afterwards.
