"Blues Party Tour" - Highway 61 Blues Band with Big Mo & The Full Moon Band and The Great Oglee Moglee Blues Band.
The Highway 61 Blues Band is a seven-piece Chicago style, horn-driven band with R&B influences. They were nominated best band at the 2005 South Bay Entertainment Awards, and were finalists in the 2006 Monterey Bay Blues Festivals Battle of the Blues Bands. Their first CD was #3 on the 2005 Tower Records top sellers list. The band includes the very talented guitarist Greg Barker, accompanied by a well-established rhythm section and lively horn section, plus a sensational harmonicist. There will be special appearances of past band alumni sitting in with the horn section. Highway 61 is one of the most sought after bands in the Central Valley.
Big Mo & The Full Moon Band are from Paradise, CA and Chico, CA. Maurice "Big Mo" Huffman moved to the US from Germany in 1989 and has been performing with his Full Moon Band through out the country since 1999. The band won the Monterey Bay Blues Festival Best Blues Band award. They perform all original music and have released three CD's. There musical styles range from blues, to jazz, to southern rock.
Opening the show is The Great Oglee Moglee Blues Band. Originally formed in the fall of 2007 in Stockton, Oglee Moglee set out to create their own brand of the blues. Their sound is a mix of blues, rock, and funk, a sound they decided to call "Blues For The 21st Century."
This will be a great night to get out and dance to some outstanding blues infused music.
