"The Hidden Wisdom of Autumn Forest"
Luna Motha creativity-focused educational enterpriseas part of the Salisbury Centre's annual Community Empowerment Program, invites your Children to join us for an Autumn adventure on September 21st!
Ancient festivals offer a fantastic educational opportunity to explore the cultures from which we originated. Through the myths, art, and history of the Celts of the British Isles, we can learn to experience nature deeply, treating it with reverence.
The Autumn Equinox in Celtic tradition is a time of Balance and Thanksgiving. This day marks the moment when day and night are of equal length, symbolizing harmony and equilibrium between light and dark. In preparation for the longer nights ahead, we will embrace darkness through blindfold games, which not only enhance sensory and spatial awareness but also emphasize trust and communication. Because it is also the time of balance, imaginative balancing activities will intertwine storytelling and art.
Myths about Mabon ap Modron - present in Arthurian legends depict characters of spirit animals which we will follow as Kings' knights embarking on our three-hour journey. The Celts held animal sppirits in great esteem, therefore, we will speak to a Stag, an Owl, a Salmon and a Fox, and get inspired to do some crafts derived from original Celtic Art. For that, we will be using Steiner-Waldorf educational methods like form drawing, or vail painting. After we finish, everyone is invited to a bofire in the Garden which will finish at 5 p.m.
Bring your family along for a magical day of stories, crafts, and nature exploration. It's a wonderful chance for parents and children to bond, learn, and celebrate the beauty of the season together!
Min. age of the children: 6.5 years old
