The Sleeping Beauty

The Sleeping Beauty ballet is one of classical ballet's most beautiful and entertaining masterpieces. Holt Ballet Conservatory brings to the stage the rich colors and inspiring music of this timeless work of art. Children will love to see their favorite fairy tale characters come to life, and adults will enjoy the dancing, costumes, sets, and visual "feast for the eyes" of Marius Petipa's original choreography.

The company of dancers consists of H.B.C.'s young, intermediate and advanced student dancers as well as professionals Hilary Brown, Kermit Allen, Jennifer Bond and Marni Marshall. Ms. Brown plays the evil Carabosse, who casts the spell of death upon the beautiful Aurora, and Mr. Allen is the Prince, who, 100 years later, wakes up the sleeping princes with "just one kiss." Ms. Bond plays the Queen of the Realm and Aurora's loving mother, and Ms. Marshall is one of Carabosse's devoted minions! Lilac Fairy (Victoria Dugan), Sleeping Beauty (Jaycee Pratt) and dancing princes, princesses, wood nymphs, duchesses and noblemen, framed by the beautiful set designs of Pamela Hodges and Saundra Pratt, make for a memorable evening of quality entertainment.
