A Novel Approach: Crafting The Page Turner (1 Day)
What does it take to hook a reader on page one? Successful author Lauren Strasnick will answer this question and many more in her one-day foray into the art of irresistible novel writing. Lauren will show you how to heighten conflict and tension and manipulate your characters and setting to intensify the drama. She'll also help you put yourself into your character's heads and flesh out their backstories to design a compelling tale. By the end of the class, you will walk away with a couple of alluring scenes and some bestseller potion to boot!

About Lauren Strasnick:
Lauren Strasnick's debut novel, "Nothing Like You" (Simon Pulse/S&S, 2009), was a RWA RITA award finalist in two categories, Best First Book and YA Romance. Her second novel, "Her and Me and You" (Simon Pulse/S&S, 2010), was a 2012 ALA Quick Pick for Reluctant Young Adult Readers. "Then You Were Gone" (Simon Pulse/S&S), Lauren's third book, was published in January 2013. She holds a BS in Film and a Minor in Creative Writing from Emerson College and an MFA in Writing from California Institute of the Arts.
