Learning Opportunity from Cascade Water Alliance for Cascade Members
Agenda: This class will cover the basics of drip irrigation, from design to maintenance to scheduling. Drip irrigation is by far the most efficient means of watering the landscape, but it does require some special attention to layout and repairs to keep it working properly. We will look at a demonstration drip system in Tukwila at Riverton Park and look at further ways to expand and adapt this type of irrigating to specific conditions and needs in a garden. Topics covered: 1. Drip irrigation, pressure management, valves and shut offs. 2. Maintenance and repairs, performing a seasonal inspection 3. Programming a watering schedule for drip irrigation 4. How drip irrigation benefits the landscape, soil health, and water conservation 5. The benefits of mulch
The class will include hands-on activities with drip irrigation products and hardware.
There will be ample time for questions so you can learn how to utilize drip irrigation in your citys parks and streetscapes.
