About the Artists: Richard Simeonoffs new EP, Listen to This, is a tongue-in-cheek way of delivering that exact message; that he wants you to hear these songs. Following up his 2022 debut LP Oh Well, the 5 songs on Listen to Thisexplore our changes in life, and how we navigate them; through love, death, and, at times, the absurd. Richard turned to producer Trevor Spencer (Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty) at Way Out Studios to help bring the songs to life in a new way. That working relationship brought out more than expected for Simeonoff. Some of these songs were written from a place that I felt too personal to be any good, but Trevor showed me that some of those places lie where I just cant see the road, but its there. Listen to This, Richard hopes, is more than just a catchy slogan, because there are things that are universal in these songs, and I just hope we can connect through them. ----------- A treatise on the sacred and profane, Heart Machine is an Indie/Americana five piece formed in the dark center of the universe, Fairbanks, AK. Tortured poet, and by all accounts a good hang, frontman Jack Bennett began writing songs in earnest at age 10 and like clockwork, 16 years later they started getting really good. With influences like Big Thief, Bright Eyes, and Fiona Apple, Heart Machine is committed to writing spooky, introspective bops about sex and death and god for the downtrodden, the auteurs, and the cigarette cowgirls of the world. ---------- Alaska-based Indigenous songwriter Ashley Young is a hopeful romantic with unforgettable vocal warmth. Her lovesick disposition is a light-hearted lens to radical reclamation. Audience members of Ashleys live performances experience catharsis through her infectious laughter and refreshing honesty. With a goal of promoting authenticity, connection, and cycle breaking, Ashleys music reveals vulnerable and personal truths that many experience but are often afraid to discuss. Her sources of strength are self-love, risk-taking, and TlingĂt tribal values like humor and community. ------ Rage City Vintage is an Art Collective, Vintage Boutique & Community Space in the heart of Spenard. 3400 Spenard Rd #104
