Bottleneck
The play is set in Liverpool, 1989. Greg is thirteen and has just started secondary school. He earns pocket money sweeping up hair in a barbers. Girls are aliens. Liverpool FC are everything. Bottleneck is a coming-of-age story about becoming a man through adventures both big and small. It is about a notorious city, how the outside world views it, and how it views the outside world.
The play is written by Liverpool born and bred Luke Barnes and presented by Riot Productions. The company creates theatre with a social purpose, aiming to spark debate and re-contextualise modern history.
