Pilot Program
September 12 - November 7 Thursdays 6pm-8pm
This is a non-contact, beginner skate program designed to teach participants how to skate (stride, forward, backward, lateral) fall safely, and stop proficiently. Curriculum is centered around the goal of passing WFTDA minimum skills requirements and progressing to contact-level skating, where they can learn how to play the sport of Roller Derby. In addition to on-skate practices, participants will have opportunities to learn about the rules and gameplay in group discussions.
If Roller Derby isnt your personal goal, Thats great too! This program will provide you the necessary skills to skate safely in whatever way brings you joy! Were excited that you've chosen to work hard, get sweaty and laugh with us!

Our good friends at Get Your Bearings Skate Shop can help you find everything you'll need!
Alternatively, we have an assortment of donated pads, helmets, mouthguards, and skates for day of use!! Sizes are varied and limited. Reach out to us at newskater@jetcityrollerderby.com with any questions, and to ensure we have the resources necessary to support you!
