Donna Crump & Good Dance Since 1984
AWARD-WINNING LOCAL CHOREOGRAPHER DONNA CRUMP TO PERFORM AT THE MARIGNY OPERA HOUSE IN MAY 2014
The Marigny Opera House is proud to present acclaimed choreographer Donna Crump's newest works in a program of individual dances performed by her company, Good Dance Since 1984. The mixed program will feature a new composition inspired by wild orcas, a celebration of Mardi Gras Indians, and other ensemble pieces performed to the music of Tchaikovsky, Nina Simone and Kanye West. Local musicians St. Rock and Drummer Man Ace will provide live accompaniment to one of the dances.
Director/Choreographer Donna Crump is a native New Orleanian. Her extensive career has included engagements in New York, Brazil, Zimbabwe and South Africa, and her dance company regularly performs in festivals across the United States. She received the Big Easy Tribute to Classical Arts Award for Outstanding Choreography New Work (2013) and Outstanding Modern Dance Presentation (2014).
Donna Crump & Good Dance Since 1984 will perform at the Marigny Opera House from May 9th-May 11th; all performances at 8:00pm. Tickets: $20; $10 Students/Seniors. Tickets are available at box office the night of the performance, or online at www.marignyoperahouse.org.
