About
(Mindie Lind and Megan Griffiths, USA, 2024, 5 min, English)

Mindie Lind and Megan Griffiths invite you to join them for the first screening of an animated documentary short film excerpted from their feature project VIEW FROM THE FLOOR. This short was created with the help of a CityArtist grant from the City of Seattle's Office of Arts & Culture, and will serve as a proof-of-concept for the full feature.

Along with the screening of the 5min proof-of-concept, there will also be a live performance of the movies theme song from Mindie Lind, a Q&A with the creators, and opportunities to get involved and support our efforts to get the full feature made. Drinks & concessions will be available!

More information about the feature: VIEW FROM THE FLOOR is a memoir about sex, drugs and rock-n-roll without legs, as told through the life experiences of singer, songwriter, and crip commentator Mindie Lind. Through animation, music, and Mindies distinctive voice, this feature documentary will provide a radical, irreverent, and starkly personal perspective on disability, ableism, and exploitation.

Accessibility

Ticketing, concessions, cinemas, restrooms, and our public edit lab are located on Northwest Film Forum's ground floor, which is wheelchair accessible. We have a limited number of assistive listening devices available for programs hosted in our larger theater, Cinema 1. These devices are maintained by the Technical Director, and can be requested at the ticketing and concessions counter. The Forum does NOT have assistive devices for the visually impaired, and is not (yet) a scent-free venue. Our commitment to increasing access for our audiences is ongoing, and we welcome all public input on the subject! If you have additional specific questions about accessibility at our venue, please contact our Patron Services Manager at maria@nwfilmforum.org
