The Last Cup: The Road to the World Series of Beer Pong
When you talk about a sports movie that has it all, youre talking about Last Cup. Its got the full spectrum of familiar characters: the tough guy that seems to dominate the competition, the nerd who solves the key to the game through math and science, and the down-on-his-luck little guy who is happy just to be playing the game. Its got the tension-building scenes of the early rounds of competition leading up to the big final showdown. Yes, Last Cup has everything the classic sports film needs. Except a sport. Beer pong is, at best, an excuse for getting drunk that masquerades as a game. But in the spirit of many recent documentaries, such as King of Kong, Planet B-Boy, and Air Guitar Nation, this film celebrates that moment in which a seemingly regular person stands in the spotlight, master of a tiny slice of this crazy whirl we call life.
