After one year of civil conflict and the EZLN lifting on the Mexican Mountains there were nothing solved yet It's 1995 and the Zapatista movement it's getting adepts, generating and uniting talents this new social movement represented the perfect place and time for PANTEN ROCOC birth, the new talent of the Mexican ska circuit t , consolidating the road that bands like ÂMaldita Vecindad and ÂTijuana No opened some years ago. A new edge of social conscience, fighting soul and collective work just begun. It would be a huge effort playing in bars, parties and street rallies, the band was being structured and it's unique rhythms began to be distinguished and it's reputation was growing little by little. It's first demo ÂToloache pa..mi negra that included six songs, was rolled hand by hand, then Panten began to be invi ted to the best discography projects of that time: ÂEskuela de baile (Dance School) with ÂCurame (Cure me) and ÂPuro Skaol (Pure Skanish) with ÂBorracho (Drunk). Finally alter 5 years of continuous work and an award at the ÂSkalaria Festival as Best Local Ska Band in 1999, it reached the market  Ala izquierda de la tierra (At the lef t of the Earth) it's first album that sold more than 70,000 copies, catapulting i ts success to international levels. In 2000 the band consolidate it's status sharing stage with Manu Chao in the main square in Mxico city in front of 150,000 people, record of assistance to a public event in that place until then It began the international tours, festivals, features with famous musicians like Flavio Cianciarulo from Los Fabulosos Cadil lacs LFC who would produce in 2002 the second album of the band ÂCompaeros Musicales (Musical Partners), material that sold over 100,000 copies. ÂCompaeros Musicales was released in USA and Latin America with a bonus track  La dosis perfecta (The perfect dose) one of the most iconic songs from the very begging of the band. November 3rd of this year was the first show for Panteon Rococo in US, the band was the opener for Maldita Vecindad at the Universal amphitheaterÂÂ.. In 2003 were nominated at the MTV/VMA as best new art ist and in 2004 at the MTV Movie Awards for the best original song for a movie with ÂSonia for ÂSin Tonni Sonia a screen hit of the new Mexican film wave. That same year the band released it's third albm ÂTres veces tres (Three times three). By that time the tours became intense, in U.S. they perform for the first time as a headliner at HOUSE OF BLUES in Hollywood, CA. In Europe, the band plays in a 40 shows tour through Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Spain, playing at the biggest festivals on that continent like ESPARRAGO, SUMMERJAM, GREENFIELDS, SOUTHSIDE, NOVA ROCK, HURRICANE, FUSION, sharing stage with RADIOHEAD, METALLICA, PLACEBO, THE STROKES and R.E.M. among others. In 2005 they celebrated the 10th anniversary of the band with a CD/DVD live at ÂFARO named ÂDiez aos un Panten muy vivo (Ten years a very alive Panten) in a cultural festival with over than 30,000 fans singing and dancing for more than six hours. Finally in 2007 came out ÂPanten Rococ homonymous album, that reflects the musical maturity reached by the band in these 13 years of continuous work. Nowadays Panten Rococ is on tour through Europe with 68 confirmed shows in 80 days, conquering for the first time France, Morocco and Letonia, at main schedules and stages in festivals like OPEN FLAIR, FONTAINE FESTIVAL, ROCK FOR PEOPLE and LATINO ROCK sharing stage with RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, NOFX, CHEMICAL BROTHERS, THE HIVES, RADIOHEAD, FOO FIGHTERS, and DIE RZTE. Their globe trotting includes ten successive intense European tours, ÂRock al Parque in Colombia, eight tours in the U.S playing at The Aragon Ballroom, Universal Amphitheater, and ÂPanamerican festival in Chicago, BBKing Blues in N.Y, House of blues around the country, Texas, Kansas, Atlanta, and many more, among them their sixth featured slot in MexicoÂs main open air fest, FESTIVAL VIVE LATINO, doubtlessly the most important one in this sub region at the American continent. So much forceful work and well deserved prominence have claimed in return the intense loyal ty accorded Panten Rococ by their ever growing audience. Unwavering social and ideological commitment with oppressed people has characterized this band which has belonged to them 14 years now, and shall remain by their side while it subsists, a long, long time from now. This is why we can proudly affirm that Panten Rococ is the only Mexican Ska/Fusion Band that reaches so many corners of the world, announcing before all that music is the authentic universal language.
