A Benefit for the Flying Needle Project
A fabulous night with Brass Liberation Orchestra and The Lloyd Family Players on April 10 at 6PM to raise funds for The Flying Needle Project.
Brass Liberation Orchestra, founded in 2002, is a musical group of brass, reeds and percussion that plays music to support political causes.
The Lloyd Family Players have roots in Brazillian samba and branches in the diverse musical culture of Oakland. Featuring musicians from the Afro-Cuban, Balkan, Gamelan and Marching band scenes, this 9 piece non-traditional bateria mix together unexpected breaks and textures with great precision whipping the dance floor into a frenzy.
Flying Needle Project operates a free acupuncture clinic Cape Town, South Africa since 2009, providing acupuncture to underserved populations with HIV. FNP works in conjunction with conventional medicine and anti retro-viral medications to provide integrative, holistic treatment. In order to reach the townships and rural areas of South Africa, FNP hopes to create a mobile clinic. This step will bring the medicine to those in need who cannot afford transportation to the city.
Beer (Magnolia beer!) and wine is available to purchase.
Come support a good cause and have a blast!
