Lumen printing makes photographic images utilizing the sun for exposure and will produce surprisingly delicate and colorful images on photographic printing papers. By arranging vegetation and other objects on traditional silver gelatin black/white photo paper, covering with glass and exposing in the sun, you can watch the chemicals in plants/paper react to one another to create images in unexpected forms. You will also learn techniques to encourage and control the image. Final images can be fixed with traditional darkroom fix or more commonly stored indefinitely in black bags and scanned for the final print. All materials, including photo paper, and black storage bags are provided. You may wish to bring favorite plants and flowers to personalize your work.
