For the last decade Anna Brown Massey has been making her signature musical and inventive dance work in New York City. Now she is leaving to pursue her MFA at the Ohio State University. Before we lose her, catch this finale performance of selected works. Known for her humor, musicality and athleticism, | Leafing | will highlight Anna's frequent and often egalitarian collaborations.
Anna brings back her Moves Project partner Karesia Batan for a new site-specific piece, and she has invited the virtuosic newcomer Emily Craver for a restaging of her captivating work The Telling with new music by James Shipp. Morgelyn Tenbeth-Ward and Craver will be part of an exploration of mortality. A duet with Makespeak creator Haggai Cohen-Milo researches cross-media improvisation. And a furiously comic performance with the inimitable Amanda Kwolyk will keep us off our angst ridden modern laurels. Expect original ideas and live music.
The performance is followed by a reception and big ass going away party.
