ANATOMICA: A Comedy About Meat, Bones, & The Skin You're In by Amica Hunter
International Comedian & Weird-Lil-Gremlin, Amica Hunter (they/them), returns to their home town for a one night only performance of their award winning solo solo comedy show. ANATOMICA is a hilarious, captivating, and sometimes-unsettling-comedy about skeletons, and the horrors of living in a body. ANATOMICA is an intimate, unpredictable exploration of pain, zoology, & collective imagination. Every animal has a skeleton But which biological structural system is the BEST? With candidness and a comfortably casual tone, Amica reviews the three skeletal systems found in earthly organisms and discusses the limitations of each one. What would it be like to inhabit a body completely alien from our classic human form? A gloriously deranged Ted-Talk by a wanna-be-scientist clown school graduate. Part stand-up, part storytelling, and part clown, ANATOMICA is an investigation of the inadequacies of different animal body models, and a celebration of the absurdity of being trapped in a body that is limited by pain, fatigue, and ultimately decay. But, you know, make it fun! Doors at 7:30pm, Show at 8;00pm. 75 min long, no intermission, PG-13

About the Artist:
Amica Hunter (they/them) is your basic multi-layered mammalian organism - a creaking calcium scaffolding, wrapped in wet pulsing blood tubes and layers of raw meat, all dipped in a skin coating and rolled in hair - like some sort of effed up, sentient, caramel apple. Amica grew up in Albuquerque, moved to Portland, OR after graduating high school, and promptly dropped out of college to attend clown school at the San Francisco Circus Center. They have been creating, performing, and touring physical comedy shows ever since. Amica co-founded the 20x award winning physical comedy duo, A Little Bit Off, which created and toured shows around the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand from 2013 to 2022.
