Successful management of the breeding herd begins with successful breeding practices. Many factors, animal, human and environmental, impact the success of the sow to breed, litter size, and the sows ability to rebreed. Dr. Tim Safranski, University of Missouri State Swine Breeding Specialist, will provide training concerning anatomy and physiology of reproduction in sows, estrus detection, estrus synchronization, semen purchasing & handling, and breeding. These practices will help you improve reproductive performance and the genetics of your swine herd.
