Our Love is Here to Stay
Seattle Jewish Chorale celebrates Spring with songs of love in their Season Finale concert on Sunday, May 18, at 7pm. The program includes music from Jewish composers from Salamone Rossi to contemporary American and Israeli including Ira and George Gershwin, Johnny Mercer and Ziggy Elman, Carly Simon, Arik Einstein and Tom Lehrer. A special feature is the lovely "Five Hebrew Songs" by Eric Whitacre, with poems by Israeli poet Hila Plitman. Join us for an uplifting, life-affirming program celebrating love and Spring, with songs exquisitely beautiful, poignant, upbeat and funny, setting texts as old as the Song of Songs and as contemporary as the 21th century.
The thirty voices of the Chorale, conducted by Music Director Mary Pat Graham, will be joined by pianist Harumi Makiyama, percussionist Will Dowd, and clarinetist John Stiffler.
